The Second Carbon Neutrality Boao Conference in 2022 was a complete success!

It is a great pleasure to gather with you in Boao, Hainan in this warm and sunny winter in November to participate in the "Second Carbon Neutrality Boao Conference". On behalf of the organizers China Energy Conservation Association and China Quality Certification Center, as well as Conference organizer China Energy Conservation Association Carbon Neutrality Professional Committee, Fang Qing would like to extend a warm welcome to all the leaders and guests who came to this event!

President Xi Jinping emphasized in the report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to promote green development and the harmonious coexistence of human and nature. However, at present, the world is undergoing unprecedented changes in a century and it is accelerating. The economic recovery in post-pandemic era and new changes in the international landscape have significantly increased the risk of uncertainty in the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) of EU. The consensus and measures taken by the world to deal with climate change are far from enough.

Entrepreneurs are expected to do the following on the journey to the realization of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals:

1. Understanding the great significance of performing well in carbon peaking and carbon neutrality work in depth. China’s economic and social development has made great achievements that have attracted worldwide attention. It has entered the stage of high-quality development, and the proportion of high-carbon industries is still relatively high. High-carbon transformation is at an important stage. New momentum of green economy needs to be released as soon as possible to provide powerful impetus for China to comprehensively build a modern socialist country.

Second, performing well in carbon emission accounting, energy substitution, material and raw material substitution. Carbon footprint, carbon emission reduction, carbon peaking, and carbon neutrality are actually a management task of full supply chain. The undoubted core issue is to empower the technology of entire supply chain, realize collaborative innovation and continuous emission reduction through accounting methods and tools, so as to implement and support the realization of the nationwide carbon neutrality goals.

This conference focuses on the global consensus and measures to deal with climate change, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism of EU and top-level design of China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality; discusses how regions and enterprises can make a strategic transformation layout under the carbon neutrality vision and take the lead in industrial transformation as well as enhancing competitiveness; leading technological innovation and industrial transformation, promote the transformation and upgrading of energy structure, seeking green development and create a low-carbon life. Meanwhile, the conference will launch Boao Declaration of Corporate Action in realizing Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality, and release the achievement of " Green Investment and Financing Map under the Vision of Carbon peaking and Carbon Neutrality", which can be said to be fruitful. China Energy Conservation Association will also summarize experience in future work, continue to deepen and improve, strive to develop characteristics and standards, and contribute wisdom to the early realization of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goal.
