OBP classification
  • 1.Potential Ocean Bound Plastics: discarded plastic waste located within 50 kilometers from the coastline;
  • 2.Coastline Ocean Bound Plastics: discarded plastic waste that appears within 200 meters of the highest tide towards the land and within 100 meters of the lowest tide towards the ocean;
  • 3.Water channel Ocean Bound Plastics: discarded plastic waste in the river or within 200 meters from both sides of the river;
  • 4.Fishing Material Ocean Bound Plastic: Abandoned Plastic Waste collected by projects that incentivize fishermen to bring back to shore and/or not discard at sea their own Plastic waste or third-party Plastic waste collected involuntarily during fishing activities as bycatch.

OBP Source：
  • Geographical location or specific ecosystem where the OBP has been collected. A Source can be a specific river, beach, port, marine area, region or country depending on how the Organization has defined the sites it is collecting in and the Category of OBP.

TRANSACTION DECLARATIONS, are tools used by the OBP program to enhance traceability and ensure the authenticity of transactions involving certified OBP. Each transaction statement has a unique identifier and can only be issued by an organization holding valid scope certificate: a) Certified OBP Suppliers, organizations shall issue a transaction statement every time when the ownership of certified OBP product is changed. For example, when the seller sends the OBP product to its buyer, rather than the organization delivers the OBP to its subcontractor) the statement of transaction must be delivered to the buyer/recipient of the OBP product along with the necessary commercial and logistic documents b）Once an organization has requested and received its account details from ZPO for this purpose, the organization can issue transaction statement through the OBP scheme website.
